Goat Milk Soap FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is goat milk soap suitable for sensitive skin?
Our goat milk soaps are crafted with gentle, natural ingredients. Many people with sensitive skin find natural soap a comfortable alternative to synthetic detergent bars. However, every person's skin is different. If you have a known skin condition, allergy, or dermatological concern, we recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional before use.
Does goat milk soap contain dairy allergens?
Our soaps are made with locally sourced goat milk. While the soap-making (saponification) process transforms the ingredients, trace proteins may remain. If you have a dairy allergy or any food-related allergy, please consult your doctor or allergist before using products that contain milk. When in doubt, a patch test is always a smart first step.
How do I do a patch test?
A patch test can help you check how your skin responds to a new product:
- Lather a small amount of soap on the inside of your wrist or elbow.
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
- Wait 24–48 hours and monitor the area for redness, itching, or irritation.
- If any reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
If you experience any discomfort during the test, rinse the area immediately with water.
How should I store my soap?
To get the most out of your bar, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Between uses, allow your soap to drain and dry on a well-ventilated soap dish or wooden soap rack — this prevents it from sitting in water, which can soften or shorten the life of the bar.
What is the shelf life of your soaps?
Our soaps are handcrafted in small batches without synthetic preservatives. When stored properly (cool, dry, out of direct sunlight), an unopened bar typically remains at its best for up to 12 months. Once you start using a bar, proper drainage between uses will help it last as long as possible.
Will the scent fade over time?
Natural fragrance and essential oil scents can mellow over time, especially if the soap is stored in a warm or humid environment. For the freshest scent experience, store bars in a cool, dry location and use within 12 months of purchase. Some customers enjoy the subtler scent of a cured bar — it's still effective and gentle regardless of scent intensity.
Is your soap safe for everyday use?
Our soaps are formulated for regular body and hand use. They are not intended for use on broken skin, open wounds, or in or around the eyes. Keep out of reach of children. For face use, we recommend starting with a patch test, as facial skin can be more reactive than body skin.
Are your soaps free from harsh chemicals?
We craft our soaps with natural ingredients, including organic sustainable palm oil and locally sourced goat milk, and we avoid synthetic detergents. For a full ingredient list for any product, please see the individual product page. If you have specific ingredient sensitivities, we always encourage reading labels carefully and consulting a professional if needed.
Can I use your soap on children or infants?
We do not formulate or test our soaps specifically for infant use. If you are considering using our products on a child — especially an infant or a child with sensitive or reactive skin — please consult your pediatrician or dermatologist first.
What if I have a reaction or concern after using a product?
Stop using the product immediately and rinse the affected area with clean water. If you experience significant discomfort, swelling, or any serious reaction, seek advice from a medical professional promptly. You're also welcome to contact us — we want to know about your experience and will do our best to help.
